THE MECHANICS OF HUMAN MOVEMENT

Postural Stabilization for Hand and Wrist Movement Performance

Enhancing postural stabilization by lowering the whole-body center of mass (COM) appears to be associated with consistent hand and wrist movements by up to 65% during golf putting. This result is fascinating because the intervention is so easy and generates an immediate and impactful intervention outcome. Future studies suggest the development of artificial intelligence (AI) models that prescribe personalized postural modifications for stabilization. Chain Effect in Golf Swing

Small changes in ball position, as small as the length of one golf ball, alter various swing variables in the same pattern throughout the golf swing across 20 participants. This finding suggests that it may be possible to map human movement at the level of the entire body. Consequently, the postural modifications could be prescribed with predicted intervention outcomes (J Sports Sci Med, 2018; Sci Rep, 2021; Int J Sports Sci Coaching, 2023).
