Sung Eun Kim

Sung Eun (CJ) Kim is a Researcher at Frontier Research Institute of Convergence Sports Science, Yonsei University in Korea. She earned a BS in Finance from the University of Florida in 2008 and a PhD in Sports Science (Biomechanics) from Yonsei University in 2018. Following her PhD, she worked at the Descente Shoe Research Division (DISC) in Busan, Korea, until joining Stanford University in 2022 to 2024 as a Postdoctoral Scholar in Orthopaedic Surgery. While at Descente, she served as the Director of the Descente Sports Foundation and as a Consultant for Descente Golf. At Stanford University, she also took on the role of Biomechanist for Stanford Medicine Children’s Health. As an elite athlete, Kim competed in the NCAA Division 1 national golf tournaments for the University of Florida women’s golf team from 2004 to 2008, receiving a full athletic scholarship. Additionally, she was an announcer for JTBC Golf, a major golf television channel in Korea, from 2011 to 2012.
